Privacy Policy
Pictwain for Android (com.pictwain.collage) · Last updated 4 November 2026
This policy explains what information the Pictwain app collects, why, and what choices you have. Pictwain has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Your photos
- Pictwain opens only the photos you pick with the Android photo picker. It does not ask for access to your whole photo library.
- Photos you add to a project are copied into the app's private storage on your device so the project keeps working. They are deleted when you delete the project or uninstall the app.
- Photos are never uploaded to us or to any third party. Project photos are excluded from Android cloud backup; they can be moved only by a direct device-to-device transfer that you start.
- Location and other photo metadata are removed from every exported image. Exports are saved to your Pictures folder, and you share them only through the Android share menu.
Camera and notifications
The camera permission is requested only when you open the overlay camera; pictures are taken and kept on your device. The notification permission is requested only if you turn on a project reminder, which is scheduled on your device. You can revoke both in Android settings.
Information collected by third-party services
The app uses Google services for advertising, analytics and crash reports. They collect some information automatically:
| Service | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising ID, device and app information, approximate location derived from your IP address, ad interactions | Showing ads, measuring ads, preventing fraud |
| Google User Messaging Platform | Your consent choices | Asking for and storing consent where the law requires it |
| Firebase Analytics | App interactions (for example, screens opened), app instance ID, device information | Understanding how the app is used and improving it |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash logs, diagnostic and device information | Finding and fixing crashes |
None of these services receive your photos. This information is sent over an encrypted connection and is processed by Google under its own terms: see Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Consent and your choices
- If you are in a region where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the app: Settings → Ad privacy.
- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Google → Ads, or Privacy → Ads).
- You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above, for the purposes listed above, or when required by law.
Data retention and deletion
Data collected by Google services is kept according to Google's retention settings (analytics data for up to 14 months). Because the app has no accounts, we cannot link this data to you; to request deletion of data associated with your device, write to the address below and we will forward your request to Google where possible. Uninstalling the app deletes your projects, photos copied into the app and settings.
Children
Pictwain is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
